Rodney Atkins: Take a Back Road

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

Rodney Atkins: Take a Back Road

Post by troy »

Statistically, 58% of you don't like country music.

If you are in the other 42% like I am, then check out Rodney Atkins new song Take a Back Road. It kind of sums up a lot of why I ride dualsport.

"Put a little gravel in my travel!"
Rodney Atkins: Take a Back Road wrote: Sit in that six lane backed up traffic
Horns are honking, I’ve about had it
I’m looking for an exit sign
Gotta get out of here, get it all off my mind
And like a memory from your grandpa’s attic
A song comes slippin through the radio static
Changing my mood, a little George Strait 1982

Chorus
And it makes me wanna take a back road
Makes me wanna take the long way home
Put a little gravel in my travel
Unwind, unravel all night long
Makes me wanna grab my honey
Tear down some two-lane country, who knows
Get lost and get right with my soul
Makes me wanna take, makes me wanna
Take a back road

I’ve been cooped up, tied down, about forgotten
What a field looks like, full of corn and cotton
If I’m gonna hit a traffic jam,
Well it better be a tractor man
So sick and tired of this interstate system
I need a curve and wind and twistin'
A dusty path to nowhere
With the wind blowing through my baby’s hair

(repeat chorus)

Bridge
Maybe it’s the feeling or maybe it’s the freedom
Maybe it’s that shady spot
Where we park that truck when things get hot
Yeah we park the truck when the things get hot

(repeat chorus)

Some old back road, get right with my soul
Now all I gotta do is take some old back road
To the shady spot where things get hot ooh
Way down, way down, way down some old back road

I love it! So far I believe you (Hayden) are the only one with an actual RideForum.NET sticker on your bike. (He made his own!) Below is an artist's (me) rendition of my new BMW F800 GS!

Statistically 0.2% of the population like DUBSTEP. Sometimes, quite strangely, I fall into that category. But, then again, I like most music anyway - for me, it's more of a mood thing than a genre thing.

So -- does that mean you weren't listening to this while on the trail for motivation:

Im thinking a sticker where the lettering is in a circle with a dirtbike in the middle.

I was thinking about doing a video to that song. If you want a good deal on having some decals made check out.
http://brmoffroad.com

They quoted me color 2.5 inch diamond shaped durable outdoor grade decals for under a buck each if you order 25 or more, they get even cheaper as you buy more. One time art fee of $10.
I'd proudly wear a Rideforum.Net decal on the Ol'KLR.
