Moving to Minnesota!

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

Moving to Minnesota!

Post by slimtrader »

Well I've known for a while now and am just getting around to breaking the news. Our family will be moving to the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. It's a good move for us. My wife Jennifer will be moving up in the company (cargill) and I grew up in MN and most of my family is there.

Anyway, I'm not leaving until the end of May so the Girls can stay in school and hope to meet up and ride with you guys a few more times. Heck, I may get cabin fever and have to trailer down here for an early spring or late fall ride! I have younger brothers that ride and a cousin who rides so I won't be short of places or people to ride with. Just a shorter season and more pleasant mid summer temps.

I've learned a lot from and enjoyed the company and comradarie of this group. Thanks alot for all the great rides and memories while I've lived in KS.

If anyone ever wants to head to the Northwoods for a ride I'll put one together.

I get to MN quite a bit. My wife is from Stillwater, MN and I do a little work in the State.

This summer I have rented a cabin along Lake Pepin for a week + the first part of July. I plan to ride around Lake Michigan when there. Maybe we can get together.

 No, Mike. You are not allowed to move. You have to clear all moves with the RideForum gang--you KNOW that!

While I know it's possible we'll get to ride together again after you move, the reality is, we may never see you again, and that makes me sad. I love having your easy-going attitude and great sense of humor along for the ride.

I know there is some riding up there in MN, so let's try to figure out a ride we can come up and join you on. We may get a chance between now and then to ride at Links again or Arkansas. I'll definitely keep you informed.

God bless you and your family in this new chapter of your life. It really sounds like a great move for your family. Please do stay in touch and check in every now and then.

Mike, I'm happy and sad all at the same time.

I heard MN is the land of 10,000 lakes, 2 fish and they both are male, and the state bird is a mosquito. All kidding aside MN is a good state for someone like you who enjoyes the outdoors.

Like Troy said I hope you can make some rides with us before you move and I like the idea of a road trip once you find all the good riding. Be sure to keep us posted on your riding adventures!

I'll certainly check in from time to time. I signed up for an enduro in Upton, Wyoming June 20th so I'll be wanting to get some practice rides in if I can. It's the Inyan Kara. If anyone has heard ride reports chime in. Maybe ride? My cousin has heard good things about this enduro.

Other interesting info. There is an International six Days enduro qualifier May 16th near Park Hills, MO at the St. Joe ORV. Might be fun to watch! Anyone been to the St. Joe ORV?

Yes, anyone wanting to ride in MN feel free to try to contact me. I know of good riding areas up in the north woods but am not familiar with the riding near the twin cities yet.

I can also be "friended" on Facebook. Mike Jennen or mikejennen@yahoo.com

Take care, you will be missed, and enjoy the enduro! Some good memories of riding with you and daughter out at School Creek. And some "fond" memories of getting a drowned bike restarted and refreshed! :-)

MN has great summers .... all of July 4th week, that is. Otherwise you need to invest in one of those snow-cycle conversions. (Which actually look like quite a hoot.)
