Memorial Day Dual Sport

Post by MoRidin »

A bit far for you flat landers...but AMN...this looks amazing!

Two day dual sport, low cost in the Smokies. I got the thumbs up from the better half tonight...make it to STL and hook up for the rest of the way there.

Doesn't look like anyone wants to go ride the Smokies  Looks like there are plenty of beautiful places to ride out East, the problem is that I am not ready to prioritize a week long trip out there yet. The Smokies are definately on my hit list to ride in the near future.

I know...it is borderline for me distance, and adding 3 more hours for you guys out west makes it even tougher to swallow...but dang, this ride looks killer!

I am going to do it...ACTUALLY take pics and con you guys into it for 2010!

We still need to do Michigan, Wyoming, Utah...oh and West Virginia. Geez guys, what is up with jobs and families? We have WAY too many states to ride still!

Any ride that requires 2 days of round-trip driving means I need to make it a week-long trip to get my bang for the buck. I have no problem taking week long trips EXCEPT I get basically 3 weeks of vacation from work. I already do 1 week riding in Colorado each summer, another week of vacation time is chewed up one or two days here and there. That leaves me with 1 week that I BETTER spend with my wife!

I'll need to make the decision one of these years to give up the Colorado riding to try some other experiences.

Or how about a year off.....just ride the bike the entire time doing a huge loop around the country spending a few days at various riding hot-spots connecting them with as much gravel and dirt roads as possible. Oh yeah....family and work. :)

When you are young and "free", you don't have the money and probably don't have the vision. When you finally do have the vision and money for adventure, you are locked in by "life". Let's ride.
