Lawrence to Estes Park Co, Mid Aug

So I've been dying to get back to Colorado for some motorcycling. The wifes folks have invited us out for a whole week in Rocky Mountain National Park in celebrating her mothers retirement from 27 years a elementary school teacher. I'm thinking of using my Lawrence to Hays route that I did this past October and continuing it all the way to Estes Park. I know its going to be HOT!!! I was planning on taking two whole days to two and one half days to get out there. I know it won't be as exciting as Eureka Springs or Taylor resivoir but I always like to see the country side even if it is flat. Does this sound like a crazy idea to anyone else?? Any ideas for routes??

Never been to, but I have seen lots of pics of, Arikaree Breaks in NW (far NW) KS.

The area around Wilson Reservoir is beautiful as well.

Look at his 2007 Labor Day weekend ride and 2007_09_01 ride. He hit the Arikaree Breaks and apparently had a GPS onboard.
