GPS library:
Obviously differing formats are a problem, although most of the people I have ridden with have Garmin units so their proprietary format isn't necessarily bad ... Perhaps posting in your unit's proprietary format and also in GPX format?

A small route map included would be really nice as well ... one that displays with the link to the route file.

Welcome / Doorway page:
I would prefer just having a different picture at the top of the normal page. Get me to the good stuff faster.

Ride Report Tool:
I liked what you did with the Arkansas Ride. However I missed the input of others on the trip (and those not). Like my report on my Colorado trip ... the one I wrote up at home and the one on AdvRider are similar but different, due to the input, questions posted by others on the AdvRider report.

Some sort of button that filters out all of the replies, and just shows the posts from the topic originator would be nice at times. Like with StrikingViking's report on AdvRider ... at times I just wanted to read his posts, not all of the replies from others. Is this possible? Easy or difficult would be a better question.

Flint Hills Stampede:
Roger is advertising the FHS on the BTK-KS site, but without a forum is this going to happen? Is the FHS still on or does somebody need to step up to the plate to organize an early summer weekend event?

WOW! I just about fell out of my chair here this morning when I received your message about the BTK site. Didn't see that one coming.

Kudos to you Troy for stepping up to the plate and taking on such a monumental task. I personally do not know the first thing about website admin. but I'm sure it takes a level of commitment that most would shy away from.
Very admirable actions. Only confirms your passion and enthusiasm for the sport.

I see nothing but a bright future for this forum and our riding community with you at the helm.

I am getting a 525 (07) about March 1st. I intend to use it for trail riding, DS riding and on the street. It is the only choice to do all of that. (Tight trees are going to be a workout and a thrill, I must admit.) The 610 Husky would be a heavier version of the 525. You should be able to use it everywhere as well. The 525 does have a lot more accessories available. One that I intend to get is the Acerbis "tanker" tank (6.6 gal.) for those really long DS rides.
One bike in the garage, unless my '05 250 EXC 2-stroke doesn't sell (sort of hope it doesn't) in which case there will be 2 bikes in that garage!

Actually, I was able to put this together for slightly less than that. OK, actually, other than my time, it has been "free". You see, I develop Internet applications for a living, run a small hosting business on the side, and this forum application is a free, open-source product called phpBB. The BackroadsTouring.org forum was an older version of phpBB. RideForum.NET looks so different because I have applied one of the dozens of "styles" made available by the great phpBB community. It looks MUCH nicer than the default, out-of-the-box style.

I'm looking forward to more riding, too! Right now, I'm healing from some injuries that don't want to go away. I'll be on ski vacation Dec 9 - 15, then busy with holiday parties and family time. So, may be Jan before I'm riding again...oh, and I have to fix my bent handlebars as you know. I may come up to your place to see if we can bend them back.

Do NOT bend those handlebars back straight! They may fracture internally and fail you at a critical moment! Replace them. (I did this once and they failed me on a jump...) Now is the time to get a set of really good taper handlebars!

How about a calendar of events? First thing to post would be the KC Dualsport meeting in Parkville tomorrow!

The Rides section is good, but a calendar would be easier to read I think.
