I was thinking the same thing this morning.... The Husky still has a lot of dried mud on it from my last Arkansas adventure/crash into large mud hole. Remember if you ever go done there and see a large rock in the middle of the trail it means slow down
I'm heading out to the KU football game now and I haven't cleared this with the boss yet. I will try to post when I get home. It might be an afternoon ride for me and likely no more than a couple of hours.

I might be interested in that also...depends when you are planning on heading out and how long a ride you're making it.
Re: 11/4 River Road, Leavenworth to Atchison
We will meet at the 7-11 in Leavenworth on the north side of town at noon. It's on K-7 right across the street from the gate to the fort.
We plan to have lunch at an italian place in atchison. We don't know if it is open on sundays.
Don't forget about day light savings.

Great day! Great ride! Here are the pics!
First there were two. Just me and Todd. A KLR and a DR.
Just as we were leaving Dave ( I hope I got the name right) Showed up ready to go on his 08KLR.
Bridge rated at 5 tons.
We found the quarry and explored it a while. Without a doubt it's the most aggressive riding I've ever done.
The trail up to the quarry was pretty steep and rocky. The next road was just as steep/ rocky but it added a small ravine on the left traqck that was just waiting for you to make a mistake. I was aprehensive but Todd just motored right up it like he was born on a motorcycle so I just followe his track and made it up myself. My herat was pounding by the time I made it up. Dave followed with his anakee shod 08' like there was nothing to it.
The playground at the top of the second rise was fun.
Here Dave quickly re-tightens his mirror before I can get evidence of his little get-off. He's a little too quick for me.
I think the tires helped a bit.
Even Todds kendas were packed up with mud a bit. Only my metzler karoos were cleaning themselves out up there.
Another little off road trail.
Food at Petes steakhouse. the Italian place closes at 1 on sundays and we got into town about 2:30.
Dave split off at this point to explore the back way into kansas city.
Todd and I went back down the road to explore a bit more.
And back home in leavenworth to wash the taste of all that dirt out of my mouth. Great day guys! thanks for riding with me!

Thanks for the pictures and report, really! I was able to get one of the XRs out to ride with a friend around 1:00 PM. We rode just over 100 miles, about half gravel, North and east of Liberty, between Richmond and Polo, kinda of. Got back around 4:30.

Nice pics Bad Company, I thought real hard about joining you all, laziness won out. I drove up yesterday and had catfish with some ADV guys at Rulo, Nebraska. They didn't razz me too bad about driving up in the truck. I was gone last weekend for the arkansas fall colors tour but you guys got to see prettier fall colors today.
Today's schedule was pretty hectic, slept thru the second attempt at watching Wild Hogs and watched Fantastic Four, Rise of the Silver Surfer and just got back from the grocery store. Dean

Fatburg & I meant to hook up with guys in Leavenworth or Atchison, but plans got modified a bit after church. We ended up leaving KC around 2pm I think and hit the River Rd. We hit that small quarry, and I thought I saw fresh motorcycle tracks!
Glad you guys had fun, too!
Btw, the entrance to the small quarry is here:

There is a much larger quarry with tons of trails just South of this one, BUT, it is heavily posted and the entrance has both a gate and huge boulders barring entrance.
