Looks interesting and fun. I would probably have more interest if there was a starting point near KC.

You would have even more interest if it did not coincide with your 2017 TC to KC BBQ Run!

I added Adventure Palooza to the calendar.

Thanks guys !
I am actually one of the two co-organizers of this event ! Feel free to contact me with any questions (be sure to check the webpage first, there is an extensive FAQ section) adventureridersllc@gmail.com

The link Ed gave you will work, or you can use the "www.ADVENTURERIDERSLLC.com" link , it all goes to the same place (just easier to remember) :-)

So we really have something unique and fun going on here I think, and I sincerely hope we can get a good contingent from Kansas & KansasCity area.

We have four meticulously planned backroad adventure routes from the North, South, East, and West extremes of Missouri. Chose your closest track/direction and jump in at any point of your choosing. The rides will average 150 -250 miles of gravel, hills, low water crossing, historic points, and optional riding challenges.

All roads converge on Mexico MO (yes, tell your friends you're headed to Mexico....)

Arrive to live music, spacious camping, BBQ & drink, it's going to be a great evening of food, friends, and entertainment! ( Get the tracks, the music, the food, the camping, T-shirt, and be part of something NEW & AWESOME in MidWest Adventure Riding for only $49.)

HERE IS WHERE WE HAVE KICKED IT UP ANOTHER NOTCH: using a FREE APP you will be able to take pictures along the way that will upload to our base camp. Each designated picture or checkpoint you achieve will not only allow us to have a big outdoor digital slide show that evening, but also to award points for a fun competition! (yes, there will be prizes and accolades)

ADVENTURE PALOOZA WILL TEST YOUR ABILITY TO NOT ONLY NAVIGATE YOUR ADVENTURE BIKE, BUT CHALLENGE YOU TO COMPLETE CERTAIN TASKS / CHECKPOINT !)

OUR WEBSITE HAS EXTENSIVE INFORMATION, CHECK OUT "ADVENTURE PALOOZA" ON THE DROP DOWN MENU. This ride is limited to only 100 riders, we encourage you to sign up SOON ! Direct link to go ahead and get registered https://form.jotform.us/71141093330140

Could see more KC area riders joining the fun if the nearest starting point wasn't 3 hours away. Sounds like a cool idea, I hope it is a big success.

I don't really understand this objection. Your starting point is wherever you get on your bike and start riding. I could create a dualsport route from KC to the event if it helps.

What kind of "adventure" riding are you doing if 3 hours out of Kansas City is too far away? :-D

If I understand the concept, from the starting point to the finish is a full day adventure ride with ride challenges and checkpoints along along the way. At those locations you collect points that go towards reconciliation at the end of the day.

If that is accurate, I agree with Hank. Having to either get up and ride in the dark to the starting point 3 hours away or stay the night in the area the night before may be a drawback to people in Kansas City. If there was a starting point closer to KC with checkpoints there probably would be more interest.

But there is another event that is a little more laid back without a starting point 3 hours away. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2685 The starting point is your garage.

If you live in the Kansas City metro and own an ADV motorcycle, you gotta be ready to travel a bit to use the thing. There is a reason ADVRider.com does not have a big, active thread about adventure riding IN Kansas City! Neither do the various dualsport map archives feature many routes in Kansas City. Nobody showed up for my I-435 ride!

So yeah, you'd probably want to ride out near a starting point the evening before and get a motel or camp...or kickstands up before the butt-crack-of-dawn (BCOD). While it is a "local" event to Missouri, I'm sure a lot of folks will have to ride an hour or 2 or 5 to start.

The event does include free camping as well as motels in the area, so it is intended/expected that some folks will come a day early or stay a day late perhaps--that's my perception anyway.

I'll probably head down to the TC to KC BBQ Run that weekend, but I want to give these guys kudos for the effort they are putting in to make the Adventure Palooza a great event.

I didn't think they had announced the western starting point.

It appears they have now, Lee's Summit.

They must have changed it. It was near Springfield. Too bad it is during the BBQ Run to my place.

Thanks man :)

We have about 20 people from all over signed up so far, with the goal to max out near 100. The questions people have are all good. I am thinkin' some people live between KC and Mexico, so they will just jump on the track wherever it is most near to them. For folks who live beyond KC they might depart at 6am or 7am to drive to the starting point (I don't think that sounds to bad for embarking on a big adventure with an overnight & and music and food involved). Also one does not have to stay strictly on the designated track (of course they would miss some checkpoints, but on many big rides I have been on we elect to take strategic shortcuts as needed to get in on time depending on how things go). I suppose if someone lived in Kanorado and wanted to jump in on this, then it might be necessary to drive in to the starting point the previous night so able to wakeup and start (this is also something I have done routinely when attending rides outside my usual 3 hour radius).

Thanks for all the great discussion, there is a FAQ & HINTS section on the website that might help anyone considering the ride. I am happy to answer any questions you might have. As with any event, its not for everyone (there will always be someone that says, "not for me!" But so far we have had tremendous positive feedback from people all over (Springfield, MO; Columbia, MO; St. Louis, Mo; Iowa; KC area). Hope some of you all will take the chance and sign up :)

Good eye man, right on :) The North, South, & East routes were pretty well established before we publicized, but the Western route was still being debated. As you correctly noted in the graphic, we updated the starting location so that it is closer to KC proper. Thanks!

I might have to try this. Depends on the tarkc ark ride date in October. Not so sure about this whole organized thing, apps, Google, pictures... I usually just make a track of the worst
roads, head down something I hope I won't get shot at in, and get stuck in crap...break things, pickup bike... But I should try some different things. This sounds like it.

I hope you will give it a go :)
Dale and I just got finished riding all the tracks (North/South/East/West) this last four day weekend and it was really fun. We do have tracks laid out all the way from Lee Summit, or you could trailer your bike out to the Warsaw area and shortcut some saddle time and jump on the track at that area (it gets more exciting from that area on in). It will be a great time ! When you roll into Mexico there will be live music, food, and enjoying the sharing of stories from the day.
Do you have some friends in the area that could ride as a group with you?

This looks really interesting. I might be willing to give it a shot. I'm in the KC area. If anyone else from KC thinking about it, maybe we can do a group.
