So it was Friday not today but I'm board at the airport waiting for flight home.
Anything with wheels is inherently dangerous. If you are concerned about your safety & well-being, I suggest walking, as a safe alternative

On the Illinois side of the river, we spent close to an hour at Le Fort De Chartress originally built in 1720.
A very cool place we had all to ourselves.

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
Been there a number of times. It is a very cool place indeed.
I got there by riding the levy with the Mississippi River out of it's banks and partially up the levies.
Lots of good riding and French history in the area, like the Pierre Menard Home build in 1800.
Early French/English/American history such as Fort Massic originally built by the French in 1758. Abandoned by the French after French and Indian War in 1763. When the English came to possess the fort there was nothing there because it was burned down by Indians. In 1778 during the American revolution General Clark marched from Detroit and caputured numerous English fort though out the area. He was aided because the majority of the residents were French and would not fight for the Brits.
In 1794 President George Washington order a fort to be built at the site of Fort Massic. I replica is what is there now:
There is also a lot of Civil War history in the area. Here are entrenchments at Columbus-Belmont, KY, site of Grants first battle in 1861 Battle.
In Bloomfield, MO there is a Confederate Civil War Cemetery that is very unique. It is the only one that describes how the soldier died. Here are some examples (starting with my favorite):

On a 730 mile ride with Eddie this past weekend, I took this photo somewhere in Arkansas...or was it Missouri?!
I wrote up this mini report for a "National Parks" contest with the Kansas City BMW Motorcycle Club:
