TC to KC BBQ Run IV Sept 23-25
Three years ago a group of MN riders from the Twin Cities (TC), spearheaded by Propforward, wanted to to go KC to eat BBQ. He contacted me for advice and I along with a number of KC riders took them around the city for BBQ. The following year we moved it to my place near Blue Mound, KS and had Saturday dinner catered by award winning Rusty Jug BBQ. This past fall we again had it at my place and about 40 people attended from not only from the TC's but from all over the mid-west.
We are doing it again Sept 23-25. Dinner Saturday night will be catered. It will include BBQ (of course) and locally made pies. You are on your own for other meals. I'll have a list of BBQ recommendations if you want to ride somewhere for additional BBQ, there is a small cafe in Blue Mound, or you can cook on the grill if you want to bring your own.
There is plenty of room to camp. I have miles of trials through my place for those interested. They are easy on a small bike but a handful for big adventure bikes.
I hope many of you can attend. It has been a great time in the past.
Additional info will can be found here: http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/t ... 6.1112209/ There will be a charge to cover the food. Anything collected above the costs will go to 4h clubs as it has in the past.

Those interested in joining the BBQ Run can sigh up here: http://mcliney.rideforum.net/waiver
This year there is no cost for the Saturday night BBQ dinner however if you sign up and can't attend please let me know ASAP because I'm paying by the plate.
In addition to the BBQ on Saturday night everyone is invited to meet Thursday night at the Peanut, KC oldest bar and grill, at 6:30. The address is 418 W 9th St, Kansas City, MO, 64105
Friday lunch @ 12:30 at a place to be determined
Friday night at cabin you're on your own. I have a number of grills there. A stop at PriceChopper on the way down to pick up a slab of ribs might a good idea
Saturday breakfast, on your own. Blue Mound, KS had a nice cafe as does Mound City
Saturday lunch, ride some place (eat early because dinner that night will be huge). I recommend: Guy & Mae's Tavern in Williamsburg, KS. They have great ribs in a unique atmosphere or We B Smokin BBQ at the Miami County Airport http://www.websmokin.com/bbq_menu.html Both places are an easy morning ride
Saturday Dinner around 6:00 or 6:30 at Cabin! Come hungry.
More information can be found here:

Thank you Troy for putting together the link for people to sign up. Free BBQ for you!

Really awesome of you, Eddie, to host this event and buy BBQ! I had a great time at last year's event, and what a great turn-out. I bet this year will be significantly larger. I am signed up.

You had me at "member of this forum". That right there says a whole lot about a guy. Clearly someone with excellent character and taste who wants to be part of the best.ajayhawkfan wrote:Rusty Jug will be doing the cooking again. Over 6 miles of trails. All pretty easy on a small bike but a real workout on a big one mostly because of the tight turns in the trees.

That is a cool image, Eddie! I can vouch for the trails. FUN! I had a great time at this event last year--lots of great folks!
I plan to attend on Saturday to play on the trails, enjoy the BBQ, campfire, and camaraderie. I'll camp overnight then play on trails again in the morning before riding home. Anyone want to ride down together from the metro, let me know. I can keep us off the pavement.
Folks if you want to enjoy this event, you gotta sign up at http://mcliney.rideforum.net/waiver. Eddie is buying the BBQ! That's right--FREE BBQ. That on top of hosting the event at his ranch. As you can imagine, he puts a LOT OF EFFORT into making this a great event. Those trails don't maintain themselves.
DO NOT sign up if you aren't coming...or if you do sign up then realize you can't make it, let Eddie know. He needs an accurate head count for the food he is treating us too.

THANKS FOR ANOTHER EXCELLENT EVENT, Eddie! Great turnout and great folks again this year! Fantastic BBQ and even some musical entertainment for the evening. Enjoyed riding the roads and creek crossings in the area as well as the trails on your ranch---they were in great shape! Thanks for all the time, money, and effort you put into making this great.

Thanks Eddie! Great times, food, and folks. Enjoyed seeing your cabin after all of the work that has been done. Trails were a lot of fun, too.

Thanks for a great time Eddie! It was nice to catch up with old friends, still surprised McB and KansasBob didn't know each other. BBQ was excellent and DirtFarmer outdid himself with breakfast.
