We may be taking the horses for the kids/wife to ride the horse trails there. I have heard there are ATV trails there as well but haven't found too much info on how good the trails are. I can easily throw the bike in the horse trailer if it's worth my time.

And of course: Congrats to Troy and his wife on the new arrival!!! The pictures are great.

There are two areas that I know of: one on the west side of the lake and one area on the east side by Venango point. The one on the back side was way overgrown when I tried to ride there last fall; also very rocky and rough. The one on the front side is sand and dirt, not a very large area, but you could easily entertain yourself there for an hour or two.
This is late, but Mike, my parents frequently horse camp and ride Kanopolis. The horse trails at the N end of the lake up into Horse Thief Canyon are spectacular for the area. No motorized use up there. Kyle & I tried to mountain bike it, but the trails are 8" thick powder chewed up by horse hooves---almost impossible to ride. I rode a horse on a short loop on those trails, and it's good.
