4th Bird Farm ride Sept. 27
4th Bird Farm ride Sept. 27
Sept 27 is the date this year for the bird farm trail ride. The trails are in good shape now and the weather is perfect also. Who knows what it will be by then. If this date doesn't work for you and you still want to ride give me a call and we will set up a different time for you to ride.
In the event of rain/mud causing a cancel of the ride I will post cancelation no later than the night before.
This is a family event so feel free to bring the whole family even if they don't all ride. Most of the trails are 4-wheeler/utv friendly if you want to enjoy them that way. The trails are all right here at the farm so you are never far from your car. Our trails are all mowed and clear of brush so you should be able to go for a walk and not get ticks and etc.
For those of you planning to come ride who have not been here before. Our trails are mostly in the woods along the creek varying from 4-wheeler to handlebar width. The places that are handlebar width are right on edge of the creek bank threading thru trees, although for those places I have made "easy" go arounds and I have those "easy go rounds" sign posted. Several different people have successfully ridden our trails on 650 -1200 cc bikes. On the larger bikes it will test your skills and wear you out more quickly......but the fun factor goes up if you ride a smaller bike. We have 4-5 miles of trials with no rocks.
Please post if you are planning to come.
Lunch plans or lack thereof to be announced soon.
We will have ride waivers to sign

If interested you can make a weekend out of this nice invite. The BBQ Run is that weekend. You can join the BBQ on Friday or Saturday, camp at my place and head to the Bird Farm on the 27th. His place is about 40 miles from mine.

Is anyone going to Birdman's to ride? My kids would rather ride with other kids instead of just lame old dad.

Anything with wheels is inherently dangerous. If you are concerned about your safety & well-being, I suggest walking, as a safe alternative

Re: 4th Bird Farm ride Sept. 27
This eve I picked up the meat and cheese for our lunch sandwiches. Of course we tested them for supper and they are better than OK.
This year we will park and start the ride nearer the road. The shady area across the driveway from the wind mill I think will be a good place to park and prep for the ride.
Thanks

I am really looking forward to riding your trails, Larry! Thanks for your generosity.
Re: 4th Bird Farm ride Sept. 27
Larry did you get all this rain we've been getting the past couple days? Rained most of the day today.
Ahhh, pre-mix!!
Re: 4th Bird Farm ride Sept. 27
We have not gotten a drop of rain in the last few days. Weather has been partly cloudy and fantastic. My idea of perfect fall weather . Soil conditions on the trails is great. No rain at all in the forecast for us.

Larry's trails are in the best shape ever and more of them! I know those trails don't magically groom themselves--that's a LOT of work, Larry! THANK YOU!
