Went out to riding out Perry Saturday, and overall it was a nice day of riding. Except for the past where Jessie rode her bike off an eight foot ledge...see photo. The impact must have knocked some gunk free in the carb because the overflow now pours out a steady steam of gas. She was pretty shaken up but still walked away relatively unscathed and rode for another four hours or so. I thought our day was done for sure when I turned around and she was not on the ledge. Target fixation strikes again. Side note, just because you are pretty sure your wife is ok, do not start picking her up and let the first idiot words out of your mouth be, "you looked at it!" Not my brightest moment.

Yes, the first thing you want to do when your wife makes a mistake and is upset is to point out the obvious logic mistakes in her decision making process. Wives need this kind of constant reminder or they just won't learn. HOOT! Actually I celebrated 20 years of marriage with my wife this past Oct. My advice for long-time marital bliss is to "do what she wants". (I'm still learning.)

This might be the best advice yet Stu! If I don't say anything, then I can't say anything dumb, lol!

Last night I got the kickstand re-installed on her bike, the carb cleaned out, and the seat mounted correctly, unlike the previous owner. The carb has a big chunk of gunk keeping the float from raising fully and sealing off the incoming fuel. I only ran it for a few minutes, but the overflow is no longer pouring out a steady stream of gas onto the ground. All in all, a productive evening if I do say so myself.

BTW, tell your wife that I know that trail very well. I almost ended up where her bike ended up last week. A pucker moment since I had forgotten about the washout.
