Anybody Riding This Weekend, 7/28 - 7/29?

Post by ozarksrider »

Anybody gonna ride somewhere interesting? It's gonna cool off into the 90's.

Small bike is out for the weekend, had to order parts. The big bike is good to go for a longer trip.

Man, Chris, I wish. I've been heads down with a couple of projects. Plus I need to get my KTM 450 ready for Colorado. I hit Ouray and Telluride Aug 3 - 10.

I might possibly be up for something, although I've been finding it difficult to get motivated in this heat! You said the small bike is out for the weekend, but that's all I have is small bikes, so not sure if we can get something going or not.

You're going to be in CO around the same time as us. A few of us are heading out there August 8-12 to dual sport the Alpine Loop. Maybe we'll see you out there.

Yeah, I was actually thinking climbing hills at Milford sounded like fun but I checked my valves and one of the exhaust is tight. I need a shim. I could lap it, but it's really small, and I have a hard time keeping them flat when I do.

That said, I'll ride the big one about anywhere. That is except Milford or say Box Turtle. If we can get out and finish early, we would be in the coolest hours.

Maybe something like this:

If you ride that route stop by. My place is between the crossing at S. Fork of Big Sugar Creek and Irish Creek. I'm 2.5 miles south of the Crossing on the S. Fork on Botkin Road, between 800 and 900 Road. My gate is on the east side of Botkin (there is a white house across from my gate). If gate is unlocked I'm somewhere around. Follow the driveway to the cabin. Go right in, cool off and get something to drink even if I'm not at the cabin.

Thanks Eddie, will do.

Kendall, I don't need to order parts after all so I'll have a small bike option this weekend. Now that I think about it Milford is kind of a long haul for a day's riding. Maybe more like half a day if I have to push it up the hills! :D

I may have jumped the gun saying that I could ride this weekend. I'm waiting on my jet kit for the DRZ to show up to put my Colorado jetting in, so it won't be ride-able until that happens and even then it won't be ride-able in Kansas. Plus, my 350 is apart right now since I've been too lazy to put it back together.

Not to mention, I've got a gash in my left palm that I thought would heal before this weekend, but it is still not healed up to the point where I can hold on to handlebars without breaking it back open.

All that adds up to no riding for me this weekend. Have fun if you end up going though!

I'm hoping to get a bunch of riding in this fall when the weather cools off, so we'll definitely get out to Milford again one of these weekends.

Hey Kendall, no big deal. It's looking cool in the am, and rain is headed in tomorrow evening so I'm gonna take advantage of it. I'll probably go do some exploring. We are going to the Buffalo river next weekend to float, so this is my last chance to ride for a couple weeks.

Have fun in Colorado and take care of your hand. Troy you guys have fun as well.

You guys have fun in Colorado. I just got back yesterday from a week in Lake City riding the Alpine Loop and the other runs in the area. Bring the rain gear. In 10 days there I only got 1 day of good riding weather all day.
