June 15-17
I spend 10 days and 2325 miles on black top. I'm wanting to ride some dirt and gravel this weekend.
I'm thinking of leaving Friday around 1:00 and be back around 4:00 for Fathers Day.
I'll be staying in motels. (I don't share rooms if that makes a difference.)
Exactly where is up in the air but have some thought.
Loess Hill of IA and NE
Explore Sedalia (I'm leading a ride for the GS Giant next month)
My farm in Linn County (No motel needed)
If you have an interest let me know.

Re: June 15-17
When you say 4:00, is that on Sunday Father's Day or Saturday? What is the GS Giant....does it have something to do with the BMW Rally in Sedalia?

4:00 on Sunday is about when I'll be back.
The GS Giant is part of the rally. The "Giants" have an event before and during the rally. http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58018

I may be able to go. Any flexibility on the depart time? I'd like to work Friday morning, and it's about 40 mins back home to Weston. With some planning I could be about anywhere in the metro by 2pm.

Re: June 15-17
I want to leave by 1:00. If no one goes most likely I'll be out by 12:30. If that time does not work we could meet in the evening and plan on riding Saturday and Sunday.ozarksrider wrote:I may be able to go. Any flexibility on the depart time? I'm leaning towards Sedalia because of the Giant. (I'm thinking of Hotel Bothwell)

Re: June 15-17
I would probably ride to work Friday morning and could leave straight from there.....my work is in Lees Summit so right on the way to Sedalia. Our father's day may be church and then brunch...any problem if I came back Saturday evening?

Re: June 15-17
At this point I'm still up in the air as to where.
I need (would like to) to run check out some rides in Sedalia. However I was also thinking of riding to St. Robert on Friday mostly on blacktop and then riding most of the second half the the Swing Bridges Ride. We would cross all the swinging bridges. At Jeff City I would start following the MO River. That area is where I wanted to explore for the Giant.

Re: June 15-17
Sounds like maybe a combination of swinging bridges and Sedalia....anything is fine by me.

Re: June 15-17
Tentative Plans:
Friday, 1:00 Meet at QT at 155th Street and 71 Highway (Not the one on 150 Highway). Ride to St. Robert, MO.
Saturday ride part of the Swinging Bridge route. After last bridge head towards Jeff City to cross the MO River. Ride along north bank of the river.
Saturday night somewhere in the area.
If someone needs to get back Saturday night there will be plenty of places to head to KC. On Saturday, from about 1:00 on you would only be about 2.5 highway hours from KC.

Dude, let it go! So I misread your signals ONE TIME. Look, it was uncomfortable for me, too. I didn't want you to be offended, so I just did what I thought you wanted. If that makes me gay, then so be it. You don't have to be scared to share a hotel room for the rest of your life.ajayhawkfan wrote:As a reminder, I don't share motel rooms.

The image of you coming out of the bathroom in nothing but pink chaps is painfully burned into my mind.troy wrote:Dude, let it go! So I misread your signals ONE TIME. Re: June 15-17
This was a great ride! Swinging bridges, river people, rocky roads, train trestles, civil war earth works, rivers, creeks, rain, and ajayhawkfan's story about an encounter with a pit bull at the end of a WV dirt road! He did a great job putting this together, but believe nothing in the previous post about visiting disreputable establishments.
Though I do wonder how he got that card...
