Flash Flood Watch in effect from Thursday morning through Friday evening...

Depending on which weather station one looks at there is somewhere between 1 to 5 inches of rain forcasted for Oark, Ar. on Thursday.

Now that ought to turn on the waterfalls!
Well if it is going to rain I think I will just stay in the lodge and play cards.

I'm okay with 1 inch of rain, but 5 inches might be a different story. Let's hope the rain goes away!

Yea, might need an extra bottle of "cold medicine" to get me through the rainy day.

I don't mind getting wet while riding, but will we be able to even get there alive?
This really sucks, driving 16 hours to sit in a Lodge is not cool.

I sure don't like what thier saying
I guess they have to give the worse case scenario

We are fine. I rode White Rock a few years ago after seven inches of rai in two days and it was still very rideable.

We may have to adjst our routes a bit...but we can ride.

The enduro ran and they got ponded with rain for two days...6 hours after it stops raining dust starts forming on the surface and the creeks are back to normal.

We wont be riding across the Mulberry, but the mountain streams should be ok.

Fri, Sat & Sun shuld be great.

We can cross the Mulberry on a bridge!

Not trying to be negative here but probably be a good idea for a few riders to pack a decent tow rope for hauling drowned bikes back to the truck. I'll have one.

I never ride without a tow strap

Well,
I know I waited until the last second, we're getting ready to roll out soon.

MoRidin,
I couldn't find that cd you sent last time with the routes and maps
Could you print me out maybe 2 extra copies just in case my GPS fails
I have city nav and Roads & rec loaded, but paper almost never fails.

Thanks,
It still a dry county down there right???

I'm in no matter what. It's easy for devro to be in--he only has a 1.5 hour drive. I understand the Ohio boys hesitation...16 hours....but I agree with Sean, we'll be able to ride. Thursday looks to be a bit miserable for sure, but Fri looks better and Sat looks great. Sun is great, too, but do you Ohio boys get to ride Sun?

As for drowned bikes, I do not plan to risk it like I would have on my old DR. I do carry a tow strap. I've got no problem with routes falling apart and having to backtrack--those trails are all great in either direction and all worthy of doing more than once.

I'll be packing up tonight and heading out early in the morning. Ryan, Brian, & I plan to be at the lodge by 2PM or sooner. Daryl, I plan to wait for you to start a Thursday ride---if it's not completely pouring rain.

safiri, your plan of coming down late Thurs and starting your ride on Fri is not looking too shabby now. :)

All, please be sure you check the first post for last minute important details and to see your lodging assignment. Feel free to mix & match with people if you agree on it.

Man, I hav'nt seen the sun in a week and it hasnt really even rained here much. The eastern part of the state (Ok) and our planned riding area has been getting pounded for 2 weeks or better. The comments left above about how fast the area recovers are encouraging though, but hey, as long as Im sitting on my orange beast listening to the 4 stroke symphony and not at work I'll be just fine. Good thing I decided to put a new 120 Kenda 760 on the back for this trip, might need it.

Sandy said that she is gonna bring her KTM bikini so that in case we get stuck in the lodge playing cards, she'll play the roll of beer girl. Anybody got a Leer jet that they can bring along? We could always just hop in that and kick on down to big D for the Supercross Saturday nite! The only way that we will usually miss the Dallas Supercross is if we can ride instead...........hey thats what we're gonna do! Woo-Hoo!!!

See ya'll in 45 hrs, Randy.
I wanna ride, I wanna ride, I wanna ride.......... No honey not you, step aside, the orange motorcycle behind you is the object of my desire!

Tom:

I was just thinking what a blast we all had in WV riding through the monsoon...rain water filling the trails and the puddles growing to pools. That was one of the best riding day I have ever had!

From my personal experience riding with xr-nut in mud, he's not very good at it, so we might need to help him along. He becomes very intimidated when it gets slick.

Yea, needless to say, we had no dust issue's at Hatfield & McCoy on that ride! Those kinds of towns that allow you to ride thru to gain access to the trails are so cool.

Here's what it looked like when we left after the ride:

That is what the area just north-east of Cass, AR looked like 2 weeks ago while I was on a canoe trip on the Buffalo River. Amazing to watch, so long as you are in a safe place, which my group was.

I'm packing my water wings and will be staying at the cabin with Sandy :D

Check out the regional radar I hope it pass quickly and stays gone!:

We are all starting to sound like Carl from Caddy Shack when he was talking to the minister "I don't the heavy stuff is going to start for a while", as they were standing ankle deep in water with the rain really coming down.
