I'm going to try and ride the DR to Colorado Springs to visit family next month. Just waiting for a window of weather to make a 6 day trip.............. however, as soon as the roads in Wabaunsee county or between Atchison and White Cloud are something other than soup, a day ride on the WR would work for me.

I would, but the DR has a 17" rear like your KLR. The KTM has an 18" doesn't it?
