adding zerk grease fittings to the swingarm

This would appear to work on most motos. Concern would be that the frame extends below the swingarm pivot so as to protect the zerks.

The KTM RFS bikes use two needle bearing on each side of the swingarm with a small gap between eache pair. Pushing grease into the gap would force the old greaase out and take contaminants with it.

I think my Honda came with one factory. The YZ didn't though, and when I rebuilt it, the bearings were powdered rust.

I put zerks in my mid eighties Husky's, a small hole drilled in the end of the pivot bolt and exits between the inner bearing races. I had to drill a little bigger to tap in a 1/16"-27 NPT zerk, actually a 1/4"-28 tap works just fine. I normally had them plugged with allen setscrews and didn't ride with the zerks in place, too close to my ankle bones.
My old Honda xrl has zerks, no such thing as too easy!

The hollow swingarm bolt would be great, except for bike like the RFS that use a sleeve between the bolt and the bearing. So check it out before you go to the trouble of drilling your bolt!
