YouTube Finds
WARNING: Serious geek talk in this next paragraph:
Over a year ago, I "soft-modded" an old XBOX (the original XBOX that can be picked up on craigslist for under $50) and turned it into an XBOX Media Center (http://xbmc.org/). Last night, I installed PlayOn (http://www.playon.tv/playon/) on my Windows computer which allows me to now access YouTube, Hulu.com, Netflix, etc on my TV through my XBOX.
So...this morning I'm watching moto-related YouTube videos and finding some I'll share--nothing fantastic, but if you want to waste some time, enjoy.
First, this one's for my brother, Kyle, because he and I want to load up our Vstroms and do a Grand Canyon moto-camping trip.

A review of the Sherco dirtbike. They seem to love it for most "trail riding" scenarios, however, big air punishes it.

A review of the Beta lineup---KTM engines. I love this video because of the test track they have setup. Check out the telephone pole challenge--no challenge for the test rider apparently.

You know Troy, PS3 has this feture built in! It really does do everything!
Anything with wheels is inherently dangerous. If you are concerned about your safety & well-being, I suggest walking, as a safe alternative

These are a couple videos from when I first got into riding. I got invited down to Chadwick to ride with Quads. I didn't know what a quad was

The other trails are in Lees Summit, back in the woods behind the freeways.
I would really like to shoot some new trail videos but I need a better camera system. Anyone know of something inexpensive?

Re: YouTube Finds
Are the trails in Lee's Summit still there? If so, how do you get to them? I live in Lee's Summit and it sure would be nice to have a place thats close to go play around off road!

Re: YouTube Finds
This seems like a nice HD camera setup. I like the fact that is also totally waterproof.

Hmm looks like what I want. Nice.

The Lees Summit trails are behind 470. You can get to them at view high. That should bring up a birds eye view. The dark brown lines are trails..
I wouldn't recommend off roading in Lees Summit. It's not a "sanctioned" riding area. It's a combination of highway and utility easements, park property, private property, and who knows what else. Probably a whole laundry list of violations if you get caught.
If you ever do go, stay wayy out of anything that even resembles private property. My friend and I were in a parking lot once.. ran into a very disgruntled guy! I'll drive 45 mins instead for the peace of mind it gives me.

Re: YouTube Finds
Thanks for the info. I think I saw part of those trails sometime when zooming by on the highway. I may have to live dangerously one day and sneak in there for a quick ride.

Just because you ride a cafe racer or drive a rat rod doesn't mean you have to dress like a greaser.
