Motoracer13 posting at 3:50 AM after a night of New Year's hooligans! His post even sounds sober! I'm gonna guess that by "today", you didn't mean 8 AM!

I hope to see some photos! But...man it's COLD!

So I spent about an hour shoveling driveways with the neighbors. I worked up a good sweat inside my Fieldsheer riding suit--man that thing keeps your warm. I figured what better way to cool off than a nice ride around the yard--in over a foot of snow!

The fuel-injected TE450 would fire right up, but would only run for a second or two then die. I kept trying, but did not want to run the battery down or put undo wear on the starter. So my neighbor (a big kid like me) brought his blast heater over. We warmed the motor and oil for about 10 minutes. That was all she needed!

A few laps around the street to get her and myself warmed up.

The I tried the lap around the yard. Honestly, I did not expect to get through as the snow was probably 18" in some places. But I found that 2nd gear and enough revs kept the bike moving nicely.

It was a blast. I'd love to have about a foot of snow in a field large enough to open her up in 3rd and 4th gear. It's really fun to ride in the snow. Ice, not so much.

Looks like great fun. If I wasn't recovering from surgery I would have been out in the backyard a few times the past week.

As to the not wanting to idle ... My F650 Dakar sometimes does the same thing when cold, or doesn't want to start. The solution is to stick a glove down in front of the air intake and "choke" it ... richen the mixture. Probably hard to do on your bike. Seems the FI street-legal bikes are running so lean that when really cold they don't want to run. However a lot of those issues went away when I put in a new, iridium tipped plug a few years back.

Nice pics Troy! Riding around in the deepish snow is a blast out in fields and such.
