Handle Bar Question

I need to replace my stock handle bar and I was considering going with a "Fat Bar". My question is will I need a new clamp. I have searched and found sites that sell the bars, but I haven’t seen the clamps. Am I missing something??? Any advice would be appreciated.

Look at your risers where the bar mounts, mount to the tripleclamp. If they secure to the triple clamp with a bolt going down through the center you can replace just the riser. These are about $40 bucks is all for the new risers. If the bars mounts are cast as part of the triple clamp you will have to replace the triple clamp. They generally run $125 and up. I have run fat bars(1 1/8 inch) and the normal 7/8inch bars on my dirt bikes and yes the fat bars are stronger but you also get more feedback through them. Most of the time I run 7/8, but buy quality bars like a set of Renthal. If you have a set of bark busters you will have to buy new mounts for them also. All the perches will still work but the hole inside the bar is smaller also. Anyway I hope this helps!

Well XR-Nut at $330.00 this was a little more than I was planning on spending. I'm up grading the bars to allow for the installation of a steering damper. So that is going to run about $500.00 and this would blow my budget.

i see, they are kinda pricey. imho- they are worth every red cent, with the damper you wont believe the change to your hands and upper body!! check this out, just for you- prolly in your neighborhood.
