Can i use that? "rider down"? anyhow- the guy who went to the april fool ride with me was involved in a car/moto accident this afternoon. he was life-flighted to ku med and at this moment im unaware of his exact condition. i have been told by a first responder that his condition is quite bad. without anymore info i will not speculate or put his name on the site, but those that were there surely remember the xr400 that couldnt swim. Im going to ku med tomorrow and hopefully will have a good report to post. prayers are appreciated, joe :(

Thoughts are with you and "400" (and his family).

If you need anything while in KC (place to hang, bed, company, etc.), give a call.

Mike.

Latest info, accident was a van turning into him from oppisite direction. dang near head on, hit him on left side of him/bike. left hand, arm and leg badly broken. all require numerous surgeries to repair. back has numerous pins, and neck is fractured at c5/6 and spinal cord is compromised(whatever that means). he is paralyzed from the chest down. likely permantly. 24 years old. :(

thanks mike for offer, right now family doesnt want/need any visitors so i wont be coming done anytime soon. joe

My prayers are with "xr400" and his family.

Like Mike, I offer a bed if you need a place to stay in the KC metro, Joe.

Good thoughts and prayers are sent out to this Rider and his family. He's a great guy and I hope his chances for recovery are better than previously mentioned.

This sucks! I really don't know what to say... If you get to talk with him tell him we all are thinking about him.

Also, get his cell phone because we won't want his girlfriend to see those pictures!

Man this sucks!!!!

Dang, this really sucks. My prayers are with him. My father-in-law was in a very similar accident about 2 years back. His resulted in very similar injuries although his back wasn't quite as serious. He was able to pull through it and I hope this Rider is able to also. It always seems so much worse when it happens to a young guy too.

That's terrible to hear. I know he was excited when he got the XR. it just reinforces the fact that we participate in a sport that has a considerable amount of risk to it and we take our chances everytime we ride. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family. Let's all be abit more careful riding to work tomorrow morning.

Man that bites. My own close encounter with a Moose was scary enough to slow my butt down the other day in Denali. A Close one for sure. My best wishes to go him and his family. Keep us updated will ya Joe. Thanks.

My mother-in-law was operated on by Dr. Anderson at KU Med Center. Wade is in good hands.
