PHOTO POST INTERESTING FOTO'S YOUVE TAKEN
Hey mod, can you make this a sticky if we get some interest?
Heres the idea: post a pic that YOU took, that we might find interesting/beautiful to look at! Remember to keep it clean, kids do look at this site! I'll start it off- i took this about two months ago, with my olympus e-510 and sigma 500mm lense.

Re: PHOTO POST INTERESTING FOTO'S YOUVE TAKEN
Nice picture and good idea.
Here is my contribution. I took this a few years ago in Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO. This stone was with a number of Civil War soldiers. Bloomfield is in Stoddard County, in SE MO. The photo is not that great but the tombstone tells a story.
Something I thought was interesting was a number of the soldiers in the cemetery were killed at the Battle of Mine Creek in KS.

Well, it is a bit technical, but here goes...The Harm wrote:I don't know how to post pics!
First, you don't actually "post" any photos here on RideForum.NET. You post your photos online anywhere, then link to them here in an IMG tag--which causes them to appear inline in the forum.
So, for example, I see you use Picasa Web Albums -- excellent choice! When you are logged into Picasa (you have to be logged in), and you click on one of your own photos, there is an option on the bottom right to "Link to this photo". If you click that, you'll see an option for "HTML to embed in website". Use the dropdown below to choose an image size. 800 is good, but 400 will work, too. Copy and paste the text out into Notepad (or similar). Now here is where it gets geeky. Copy out the image URL. For example, in the snippet below, it is the part after src="
Code: Select all
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/wolf.troy/Rachel2007November/photo#5133903874236578034"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/wolf.troy/Rz9KX37fePI/AAAAAAAAB-I/eKKTSO9u_Uo/s400/PB170005.JPG" /></a>

While this may sound like a lot of work, it's easy once you do it a few times and keeps you from having to upload your photos to multiple places and allows me to run things cheap without need for hundreds of gigabytes of disk space.
Re: PHOTO POST INTERESTING FOTO'S YOUVE TAKEN
hey pic posting questioner! foget the picasa, thats too complicated, try smugmug. when you click on your pic there is a share image button, under which they have it set up with about 10 different size options. you copy the one you want, and insert it between the (img)(/img) brackets, which show up in the post box after you click on the Img. button~! i always hit "preview" before posting to make sure it comes thru, but thats it. smugmug has recently added drag and drop uploading! heres another one to keep this going, come on you guys i know some of you take photos~~!

Re: PHOTO POST INTERESTING FOTO'S YOUVE TAKEN
Actually, you can see some of those switchbacks on Google Maps (the really crazy ones were on the north side of that ridge):
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UT ... 10418&z=17
We were taking old mining switchbacks that we found after following that road that goes north from the Mosquito Pass summit. There is a lot of hairy riding back in there. I'm suprised that there weren't any more tracks because it was relatively easy to get to and more exciting than the actual pass.
My Dad hated it.
P.S. Does anyone want to go to Colorado this year?
Here's another one from Mosquito that I like because my brother Micah is acting really hardcore, then there is a lady who crawled out of an SUV in the corner of the shot.

anyone have scouts at home? heres one from this years pinewood derby, both cars are my boy's. one is 10 and the other is 7, they started out in different heats, and after winning their respective heats came together for the grand-championship race. it took 3 races to end a tie, but the car with the gold dollars for weights won. it was the closest 3 races of the day!
