HELP..... Can anyone help me find some soft saddle bags side support racks for my DR350SE ? I am planning a T.A.T. ride this June and will be using some soft luggage, and would like to find some support brackets that would help hold the bags out, away from the exhaust pipe and off of the side panels, but am not having any luck in finding any. Thanks....

Here was my solution for two KTM LC4s:

Pack light ... What you see in some of the images is what I carried for a 7 day backcountry camping trip, with food being bought daily.

Hi Bill, most guys don't quite know what to make of these, luggage racks or jungle gym.

It says they fit a DR350 though:!: Dean

Bill I have the Dirt bagz. I have used them on the XR and now my DR. They do rub on the side panels, but no issues with exhaust.

They look good!
A personal preference of mine when doing off-road where crashes are inevitable ... especially in the sandy sections of the TAT that I have read about and seen pictures of ... I like to keep away from racks and hard cases ... anything that can break or bend, will. Soft bags can be duct-taped and restitched (carry some heavy duty thread and needles with ... very little space required), whereas a broken rack can leave you pondering how to get your crap to the next populated spot on the map. The other issue with hard cases and large racks is the damage to your legs they can do in a crash.
Attach the soft bags so that they don't bounce with bumps, use a bungee or two ... if the worst happens and you crash, the bags will be pulled off of your bike with little damage to the bags. If you have heavy duty straps stitched into the seams then the straps will rip out the seams.
BTW, if you want to see a list of what I carried when doing a week camping trip, take a look at:
