For those wanting more dirt and less road the Metzler Extreme DS tires work very well on my KTM 525 EXC everywhere. They hook up on rock, in mud, up nasty, rutted, root infested slots AND they work very well on the street. I was on I-70 chasing down trucks, and all of the turbulence with them, in a stiff crosswind today and they held the line. Wear? With this sort of riding it will not be a lot. They are lasting longer than racing tires for hare scrambles -- 4 or 5 races and I put on a new rear (20 hours) with race tires.
