9 of the Best Hikes in Kansas

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

They did miss the trail system at Clinton Lake just outside of Lawrence. I helped establish some of those trails nearly 50 years ago as part of the Lawrence enduro. There are miles of trails. They range from easy to moderate. If you take your dog use caution when they snoop under logs and rocks since there are both rattlesnakes and copperheads. It also has plenty of ticks in the early spring thru to late fall. It is one of the best places to hike and see eastern Kansas woodlands. The lake's shoreline is fun to play on with your dog. Those trails made for great & challenging off road riding. However, the county complained to the corps about noise so motorcycle riding was banned on the trails. You can still ride your bicycle on those trails.

Are there any of the state parks in Kansas that have both riding and hiking trails in the same park?

Not sure, but you can go hiking on any trails. I went hiking this evening with a saw in hand to open new trails.
Ahhh, pre-mix!!
