As I go down the project path, I always try to find local expertise when I can. It hasn't been easy Is there doesn't seem to be a lot of demand for it in the KC metro area. As I find people, i'll start listing them here, if some are not local, i'll post here as well.

RZ500 expert. (Engine)
Bill Wilson
https://wilsonperformance.net/

Larry at Donell's cycle is a wealth of knowledge and can do single cylinder multi-piece cranks and bore/hone cylinders in house.

Zinc Platting: (You don't need to bring in 20 pounds of fastners etc, they do it quick and reasonable)
US Platting in KC
(816) 231-8834

Chad at Area 51 in Odessa is a rock star, he's a little pricey and has a backlog, but if you need performance or even basic work done, the guy is meticulous.

Vapor Blasting:
https://www.restocycle.com/
Resto Cycle in Tucson, unreal how it comes out, they will give you their corp ship rates and will cover shipping back to you.

Vintage crap restoration of cases, forks lowers etc. Powder coating as well.
Alex Callas north of Chicago. Ping me if you want his info.
He's a standup guy, and when he comes across something with your project he can't fix, he'll point you in the right direction and work with you to make things right, he'll also make sure you are completely happy with his work as he's doing it, and after you get it. He actually told me "if you don't like it, send it back and I'll make it right".

Hey thank you so much for the link, much appreciated. My name is Nils Menten and RestoCycle is my shop. We restore Japanese motorcycles, sell Ikon Suspension products, and of course we do vapor blasting. We offer free return shipping on our vapor blast work, and we're also happy to send customers inbound shipping labels that cut that cost in half.

Happy to answer any questions about the process, or discuss a project, anytime. You can get a quote on your project or just learn more about the process, on our website at http://www.restocycle.com, or just drop me a line at nils@restocycle.com

And now, just for fun, here's a recent before and after on a set of Yamaha DT-1 cases we vapor blasted.
