Motorcycle Shipping

Post by Jengel451 »

Hey all, I've been put through the ringer the last few months dealing with shipping a few bikes around. So I'd thought I'd let you all know about a reputable shipper in case you need it.

Back Story, I've been trying to deal with UShip in getting a reputable shipper, the outcome is that most are flakey, you pay your money, they don't show up, or keep delaying (Multiple times, putting the person I was getting the bike from in a bad spot with his time off of work, waiting around for someone that didn't show), but UShip has your money. So going through that hassle is more than a pain in the ass. One shipper, come to find out, even though they looked like they were the ones doing the shipping, was subbing out to anyone that had a pulse. To complicate matters, only one time did I get direct contact information with the shipper, everything else is via the tool, so it's easy for them to ignore etc.

3 weeks ago, I heard about Mark, and I have to say, he was crazy fast, I told him I had a bike up in Seattle to get, he was up there in 3 days, making sure the pick up person knew ETA's etc, and had the bike in my garage 5 days later. He operates with his Girlfriend and they take turns driving, pretty much 24 hours a day. The guy is a machine.

Here's what I also found out about Uship this week, not only do they charge the customer 15% of the fee on top of the agreed to price, but they also take 15% out of the agreed to price from the shippers side as well. So I sort of understand why some are doing the "low cost labor market" route.

That is good info. Does he have a email address? I plan to ship a bike to Maine this summer and ride home.
