Do you guys know of any clinics for adv riders in the 50 mile radius?

Bill or Liz maybe, or something similar to what we did at Ed's place?

Thanks,
S.

Most people tell me that watching me ride is like watching a master paint. For $100, you can follow me around for an hour.

I think you are confused. Being behind a nice ass is worth $100.

Being behind an ass is worth nothing.

Happy birthday Troy.

I have a colleague interested in the sport, and have been advising him on taking a course before attempting anything which can cause expensive repairs or pain. Just wanted to see if we had anything close by.

serhan,

Not an ADV clinic and kind of last minute, but if a basic rider course would be useful for your friend, I just got this email blast:
Maple Woods Community College MSF "Basic Rider Course 2" Special for Aug 21st.

Maple Woods Community College is offering the following discounts for Engle Motors customers and BMW owners in conjunction with the 100th Year of BMW Celebration.

August 21st - Receive 25% off the price of the MSF Basic Rider Course 2, performed on you own motorcycle. Normally $115 for rider, or $125 for rider and passenger, take this 4.5 hours course for $86 for rider or $94 for rider and passenger.

Class is presented by Maple Woods Community College. Visit http://www.mcckc.edu/mwcycle for more details, then call 816-604-3011 to register and receive the BMW discount.

BINGO, Serhan! I just became aware of this:

OK, so technically more than 50 miles as Lawrence to Warrensburg is about 90 miles.

So were trying to get a spot set up for a weekend clinic type course. I've been dragging my feet for way too long but if we got enough interest I know I could pull something together. My original thought was to have a class every 6 weeks or so. Or just have a skills course set up and maintained for a fee to ride and actual instruction from time to time. Thoughts?

I know lots of clinics. I have been to many of them for several broken legs, a 4-place broken pelvis, 3 broken ribs, broken wrist, broken thumb, etc.

Cheers,

Good luck on this and for your ADV Tour Business.

I have been part of many big bike class taught by Bill Conger, formally instructor at BMW, if you have questions on how he put on a class drop me an email.

Thanks Eddie. I greatly appreciate it! I have lots of questions but I just don't know what they are yet. Lol. I will take you up on your offer though.
It's crazy how willing everyone is to help. That's what I love about our community and it really keeps me going. Talk soon.

The basic is to start with the basic and build upon each new skill. Example, start with them getting comfortable going straight while standing. Then standing and going in a circle. To standing with both legs on one side of bike and then the other. To standing and going around numerous cones. Then on to washboards, then ruts, and on and on. Each skill taught before going to the next.

That leads to broken bones.
