So I got an awesome deal on a Garmin 60sxc I've been making routes none stop since I got it monday. I was wondering where souns I go to get the topo maps?? Are there more detailed maps that show the dirt roads here in kansas similar to the Marengo website?? The maps that come with the gps are not as detailed as I'd like.

You must be a KTM rider ... 60CSx.

The Garmin MapSource topos are gonna cost you $100.

I would recommend getting both Topo and City Navigator (or City Select). The detail is much better on Topo but the routing is better using the other software. You will also need a larger chip.

You can purchase the older city select on ebay for a lot less the $100.

I used topo for about 3 year. Now I use both. I don't know how I got along without both for so long.

PS. I believe you can download topos from a friend without a registration code.

Hmmm, that mention of Atchison mud / wet clay brings back not-so-fond memories! I don't think Troy, or anybody else, has ever completed that route ...

You guys really should. I did complete that route all the way up to the "4 corners" at White Cloud and back, although the route that I've published that we attempted includes a bit of new stuff that I did not do the last time. It came recommended by Dave H, and Dave does not usually disappoint.

You guys need to find a dry Sat or Sun and do that whole route. It's long, but I really, really liked the scenery and roads up there. Oh, and when you get to White Cloud, don't be surprised to see ATV's cruising town. The "town" allows it.

Congrats on the new garmin TheHarm, I got my topo maps from walmart.com as well as the gps too.
Thanks to Troy and Mike for steering me towards a ram mount and hardwire kit from cycoactive!
