LOL! I am about ready to say "Screw it!!"...and just go get REALLY muddy!
I drove out to Southeastern Kansas and back today. Almost every river and creek I drove by was either overflowing their banks or about to. I hear up North is much worse. So tomorrow the Southern half of the state should be completely flooded, right?

The Missouri River is going to hit flood stage (if it hasn't already) all across MO. In the past 24 hours, at the KC gage, the MO R rose > 16 feet. That is not a typo.
For some graphics and data:
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/rt
The black dots in the picture below indicate water levels >99%ile for this date in >30 years of records.
Dark blue >90%ile.
Here is the MO River at KC:

Forget the house T....SAVE THE BIKES!!!
Seriously Trace, if you get flooded out and need some help or a place to stay my door is always open, plenty of room here.
I'm pretty sure the heavy rains are over for now but it will take a while to drain down from the north. Oh yeah, I was going to surf the web for some pics of Salina...I heard several eyewitness accounts today about most of Salina, KS being flooded.

Been ready to ride some more in the rain then I got sick
for 5 days last week and weekend, have to go to Houston for a week
next week. But, I did find time to get another KLR!
Just this evening in Richmond. Perfect Olive Drab 02 with 2200 miles, bone stock like new (won't be for long). If my son plays his cards right I might let him ride with us?????

Yeah I liked to go riding but I got a nice spider bite on my forearm that turned into a nice infection in less then 7 hours!! So I got a trip to the emergency room and 2 weeks worth of antibiotics!!! I'm getting better though plus I just got my Pelican cases for my KLR!!!!

Mount them and leave them empty. That way the back end of the bike might float if the water gets too deep!
Hope the forearm heals up quickly.

Holy Crap
drove by English Landing Park in Parkville tonite and was stunned. I heard folks saying the park was part of the river, but thought they were exagerating. What a site to see. Walked that trail a week or so ago and was thinking how far of drop it would be into the Missouri River from the trail.

I guess I should have bought those jet-skis from Troy earlier this spring. I could have used them on the main street of Mulvane yesterday afternoon.
At least I have lots of work to keep me busy. I don't have much time to ride right now anyhow.
