Thanks for posting this as I really like watching clips from the Dakar. I didn't see a video following your link though so I had to go look for one. The subtitles didn't help me any though.

Great post phil, I just wasted two hours on youtube and am now stoked to do some riding.

For those older or less tech , or without a DVR & cable, or forgot to record them(me) , if your DVD player has wifi or a wired lan you can surely browse youtube on that and watch the Dakar clips on the big screen until you wife sends you elsewhere. Or get a Chromecast hdmi dongle for $35 that connects your phone (netflix, youtube,...) or laptop to your tv with an app. Its not perfect, but its $35 & you can take it anywhere where there is wifi. Assuming you can get your kids off it.

Bill Conger has been training for the 2018 Dakar near ElPaso this past week and sent me this picture.

He is going further west to ride sand dunes a little later. That looks to be more then enough sand for me.

Nice!
I bet that is a killer to ride in! I'm good with about 20 feet of sand, then I'm ready for solid ground.

McLiney skid plate! Yes, McLiney makes the best skid plates. They also make the best chapstick. Thanks for also sponsoring my NMBDR ride!

That looks 50 lbs of crap hanging in front of the bars over the front wheel. Luc, with your rally experience, do you have a good idea how much weight all that stuff is?
