I've been casually interested in purchasing some land adjoining the Mark Twain National Forest. In my search it is has been difficult to find land that directly adjoins forest land but on the Northwest part of the Missouri forest. (closer to home) I've come up with some property that matches this criteria but it is more land than I want to purchase, 151 acres.
The land is 3 miles south of Chadwick riding area just off west of H highway on Pine Ridge Road. The land is owned by a family who live in western Kansas. They have come down on their price considerably to $1,000 per acre. My understanding is that they are also willing to finance.
This property directly adjoins the National Forest property on at least 3 sides. Combined with the forest property there is endless trail possibilities. The land has electricity and numerous wells. Not only is perfect for trail riding but also for hunting.
The land is exactly what I've been looking for except for the quantity of acres. Originally, they were trying to sell it in 40 acre plats for more money. Since they've considerably lowered the price, they want to sell all 151 acres.
Would anybody have a possible interest in several of us purchasing the property? There is plenty of property for several different families to use. From my house, Lees Summit, it is exactly 3 hours.
Pasted below is the link to one of the lots when they were originally trying to sell in 40 acre increments.
