Post a picture. I'm going to be on the road tomorrow. It could help if I see a bike in the back of a truck.
Was in stolen if front of your house or did they have to break a lock to get it?

They had to break a lock to get it. it's only slightly dirtier than in the picture and it has the bracket mounted on the rear fender for the KTM tail bag. It also has siccass racing rear led turn signals, KTM wind screen and a GUTS racing seat.

I want the person's Nuts who stole it hanging from the license plate frame...that would be awesome.

Just got the 690 back last Friday.
It's not really torn up too badly, but it made me sick to my stomach when I saw it. It was pretty much still new and now it looks like it's been ridden by somebody who really didn't care anything about it and knew they could just steal another one when this one wore out.
It's not probably as bad as I'm going to make it sound, but since it's mine.......you know.

Ignition was hacked. Gas cap lock is chewed up. Mirrors are gone, left clutch lever broken, right brush guard broken, rear tire shredded up like it was ridden on sharp rocks, plastics are a little gouged here and there, and some of the wiring looks screwed with, but I guess if I rode it more like I was supposed to, it wouldn't be so noticeable. The thing is, this bike was ridden on the street in SMC gear for the first 2600 miles of it's life and was stolen with around 2800 miles on it.

Anyway, I need to take it to a shop for an estimate for the insurance co. Anybody think that either Freedom or Letko would be a better place for this?

Well, just remember when you take it in for the estimate tell them what pristine shape it was in, and how the motor is making MUCH more mechanical noise than it did before it was stolen. Yep, sounds like a box of rocks now, yes it does...........

Point out every single scratch, nick, bump, mark, bruise. It should be a chunk of change. I believe you can get a check and do the repairs yourself. I know my company will do it that way.

It is now in the very capable hands of Scott Spears at Freedom. If he can keep a KTM running through the entire Dakar rally, this will be a piece of cake.

The 690 motor is IMPOSSIBLE for squidly thieves to screw up. They do not have enough skill to ride it at the level it can be ridden at. All they can do is drop it, scratch it or otherwise disfigure it. Mechanically it should be sound. Insurance can take care of the visuals. The 690 motor is probably the toughest on the planet. That is not something I would worry about after 200 theft miles.

Sooooooo, the insurance company went with the shockingly low NADA value and declared it a total loss.
I bought it back, will get just a few hundred shy of the total repair cost and will just fix the mechanicals myself. Picked it up from Freedom yesterday and ordered the necessary parts and should be back riding in a couple of weeks.
