Ironic, perhaps, to use social media to spread this word, but this is a message worth hearing.

Look Up
Re: Look Up
Just yesterday a 15 year old neighbor boy shared this with me excited about and agreeing with what was being conveyed.
I have been on numerous rides where I noticed riders totally missing what was going on around them and interaction with each other because they were doing this during the break stops.

Thanks for sharing the video with me, bird man. Of course there are great, legitimate uses of the technology and the "social" media. However, I think a lot of folks need to be really honest about how many hours of each day are spent browsing/posting on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and on the most awesome social website in the world, RideForum.NET! While those can be good things, the message I'm preaching a lot lately is giving up something good for something better.
Liking your friends on Facebook is good. Cooking a meal for your friends is better. Repinning your friend's Pinterest item is good. Going for a walk with your friend is better.

Re: Look Up
I was at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) last year and they told me they have to now provide class on social interaction. The young agents coming in are having a hard time reading body language because they interact via facebook tweeter etc... and they are missing obvious social queues when interview people.
