I'm heading south again. I hope to leave today and take my time to get to Austin, TX for the weekend to visit my daughter. On Sunday I'll be heading to the Big Bend area to to meet Ozarksrider (Chris Smith). We plan on riding the BB area for the next 4-5 days before I ride back to Austin to spend Easter weekend with my daughter.

Darn it, Eddie! If you'd given me any advance notice, I could have joined you. Maybe next year.

Maybe there is a reason (or many reasons) you were not informed.

What a nice start. I get to Nevada, MO and a thunderstorm.
I take shelter in a car wash.

I was not for the rest of the day. I had to take shelter under an overpass and about 30 minutes later in a Sonic because of heavy rain and hail.

I should mention I put a TKC80 out front per your bike and am very pleased. It sings a little but the feel on gravel and dirt is awesome!
Looks like I'm almost to the wear bars on the rear, I think my retired buddy and I may head down Arkansas way sunday or so.

Last night on Oklahoma I got to spend part of the night in the bowels of a casino when I stayed the night because of a tornado. I was about to have dinner and they evacuated everyone to safe areas. Being stuck with casino people in a tight space is not pleasant. Two woman were hysterical I crying about dying and then there were those that has cigarette withdrawals. Not the way I planned the night.
Morning was a damp cold but by Texas it was sunny and 60.

Jealous here. Filling out a performance appraisal, under professional goals thinking Big Bend next year. Not sure what kind of raise I would get for that, probably the same...you guys have fun.

This had everything to make a ride great. Creek crossings, sand, rock, remoteness, and rattlesnakes.
I can't wait to go back!

Big Bend is a great place for a winter ride. Chris and I are already talking about going back in a year or two.
Troy, how do you embed a picasa slide show?

I know I wish I could but this time of the year timing is kind of an issue. Maybe one year

The day after Christmas Mrs. ajayhawkfan and I are heading south. We will be hauling bike to our starting gate. We wanted to go to Natchez, MS and take 2 and 3 day loops out of that town however it looks like lots of rain the week after Christmas so plans have changed. We will be heading to Big Bend. I have been there twice, the Mrs. never. It scenery is second to none.
I'm only hoping the gravel road will not be too much for the wife.

If weather improves in the Natchez area we could still end up heading that way. I'll make the final decision right before we go.
