SG4 Navigation App

Pull up a couch. It's cool in the Lounge. Just remember to be a good neighbor.

SG4 Navigation App

Post by jasoomian »

I have a buddy of mine here at work who has an SG4, she's into hunting and fishing and what not. She was wondering if there was a navigation app for her phone, that would let her drop custom waypoints (deer stands, favorite places to fish, etc.) with the app so she can find them again.

I am not familiar with the Android App store, so, I was hoping someone else might be. If not, I suppose Googling would be appropriate.

She'd prefer free (as would anyone), but probably wouldn't mind paying a few bucks if it worked.

Thanks.

I haven't checked but I heard there was a Garmin app you have to pay for that turns your android into a full-on GPS with all the features.
Ahhh, pre-mix!!

There's a free Android app called GPS Essentials. There's a video that describes it and it looks like what you're looking for.
I just downloaded it, so I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I DL it and went for a ride. It tracked my whole route, took a couple of pics and they are showing up on the track. Looks like it has a lot of features, all for free. :)

Messed around with it some more, exported it from my phone to laptop and it shows up on Google earth. Cool.
I'm not sure how to link the track onto here though? Anyone? Nothing exciting, just messing around and testing out the app.
