Fantastic photo, Eddie! Speaking of Eddie, 6 of us were riding around Chase County this past weekend and who do we run into in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE? Eddie on his big 1200GSA! I'm pretty sure he planted a tracking device on my F800GS. Maybe a couple weeks ago when he helped me change the rear tire using his No-mar tire changer.

I rode about 500 miles Sat & Sun with about 300 of those miles off-pavement. We camped at Chase County Lake outside of Cottonwood Falls, KS. It's a small, scenic lake with nicely maintained camping spots and bathrooms. Camping is free!

A few pics from the adventure...

Believe it or not, in all my years of KS dualsport, I'd never made it out to Teter Rock before. Thanks for taking me there, Larry!

A man was there waiting on some workers to continue progress. He gave us a tour and told us about the old iron bridge that used to be there. Then he pointed West and said, "there's another iron bridge just like it at the end of this road". Sure enough!

We enjoyed a lot of miles of this:

I'm surprised you didn't run into any of the guys/gals out riding from the BTK groups.

I've ridden by that lake but never stopped there.

Nice pics fella's!

We actually did cross paths with a large group. Twice actually--the same group. Odd thing was most of them didn't wave. Never seen that before. Maybe they knew it was me! :-o

You may be right. Could have been a group of gravel newbs. Also I'm old. Maybe the young "punks" don't wave anymore. It's probably not cool.

Riding area about a mile from the Eagle Co airport. Cool place. Tons of single track.

Not from today but a week or so ago my son and I did three days at Ramparts in Colorado. We did all of the 770 single-track and most of the 2 track.

Wow So cool to see the group is still together and riding!! And even this same thread!!
Sorry no pics of rides to post--iPhone + water crossing = no pics/you will just have to take my word for it...hahaha.
The 525 became almost unrecognizable from too many crashes so it was donated to my brother who promised to bring back from the dead. Have been doing some rides here and there on the 690. Lots of miles but tech stuff got lost due to my genetically inferior body power on a bigger bike. After a delayed ark 500 ride with scotty this year I decided to pull the trigger and get back to the trail. Picked up a Red 450L. Its still in the process of getting all modded out but I should be ready to crash soon.
My oldest, Jackson, just turned 15 and is working on permits. I couldn't wait, so within days of his birthday there is a wr250r in the garage. He still likes his girls slow but Im hoping we get some good adventures together. Will get a pic of him with his bike posted.
The youngest, Sam is 12 and cant seem to find the end of the Red 150r's throttle cable fast enough!!
Hope to see you all soon!

Will get some pics up soon Im not in violation with the thread.

Took Lindsay out for her first gravel ride (on her new-to-her 13 CRF250L) Oct 31 in Chase County. Trailered to Tallgrass Preserve outside Strong City. We did 95 miles of gravel, and then hiked up to see the bison at Tallgrass Prairie Preserve when we returned to our hauler. I think a new backroads rider was found. ;) I let Lindsay lead, with a few suggestions. We ended up heading south toward Cassoday a bit east of Strong City.
