Here are a couple more pics of the Garnett ride, the "fast paced trail ride" was 162 miles. Started with 19 in our group and I think we finished with about twelve. A pretty good day.

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
To avoid some of the heat this past weekend we did some night riding at chadwick. Used a baja designs head light and a helmet light which worked out very well. Lots of light with the combo, but sure is spooky and dark in the middle of the woods when you turn all the lights off! My buddy used just a helmet light and said that worked fine for him. A couple videos of the riding if they work...

Cool shots guys.
We did Riverside @ Topeka yesterday. It was pretty warm! First time there. Never would have thought there was so much sand in Kansas! I put an IRC M5B deep tread soft tire tire on the back and it was fun. Nice place for a dirt nob. No mud at all, anywhere.

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
Nice videos. We rode Chadwick this weekend including a couple long night rides. I got a Rigid Industries light with some Tag helmet light I got at Wal Mart on the way down. After years of riding at night down there I finally feel like I got the perfect combination. I try to stay out of 126/127 area at night. I know most of Chadwick pretty well but still get turned around easily in that area and it can be a bitch to get out of there at night if you dont get the right line. Some of the hill climbs out of there can be a real bear. Boiled my bike over getting hung up riding out of 126 Friday night.kramerthekidd wrote: ↑05 Jun 2018 13:01 To avoid some of the heat this past weekend we did some night riding at chadwick. Now that I figured out how to insert and image again here is a pic of my setup. Did a full endo where my bike cart wheeled over the bars twice and my GPS and light came out without a scratch. I was shocked... thought they were both trashed for sure. The location protected them perfectly.
I wasn't so lucky.

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
Took my 14 year old son to Chadwick this weekend. First time where a motorcycle trip was his idea. He moved up from riding his crf 100 to my 300xcw this summer and I got downgraded to my 300 exc. His whole riding style changed. Instead of waiting up for him he's now riding at a perfect pace for me. I'm on cloud nine and I am sure my riding trips are going to skyrocket.

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
The rock ledge at the end does not look like much in the video until you put your front wheel up on it. Then we realize how gnarly that is!
If I had some trails close by I would so want a trials bike.

I don't have any AFTER photos, but here is the "camp just setup" BEFORE pic from Thursday.
Just 3 of us with a couple of back-up bikes at Chadwick's Cobb Ridge Campground in site #2. Perfect riding on Thur. 1/2 day of great riding on Fri after the rain finally stopped. Perfect weather again Saturday.
I had heard rumors in years past of lots of bikes being stolen from Chadwick, so while I was out riding my 300, I left my 500 unlocked with the key in it sitting beside my truck. No luck---after 3 days, it was still there. Guess I bought that theft insurance for nothing.
