Yes sir!
I have been having a lot of fun on my 00 250 EXC until a few weekends ago. Top end gave way. That gave me a good excuse to finally get a new one. I figure it should last me a long time (or at least I hope it does).

A few pics from my ride last weekend.

The road above led to a small clearing and a narrow but deep creek crossing on the other side of the trees.

Overall I had a great couple of days of riding, putting 650 miles on the bike

Ed! That looks like an adventure! 650 miles over 2 days is not slacking--especially when some of those miles look like just a few miles in an hour.

That is not crazy-far from the metro, either. Maybe you'd consider putting together a 2 or 3 day big dualsport loop and lead some folks? That is, if all that good stuff was not trespassing!

Thanks for sharing!

Andy and Troy thanks for your kind comments.

Troy - trespassing is a major concern of mine, I do not condone it in any way. I started working on this project as a method to increase my navigational skills. I used Google maps along with Google Earth to verify what looked like roads then built the tracks in Garmin Basecamp. I also have the Delorme Atlas and Gazetteer for reference use. I checked everything I could but even with that I still came across gated and or cabled roads that had no trespassing or private driveway signs. In some cases I had already traveled more than two miles down a gravel road that had a standard green street sign at the beginning, only to find a gate marked private drive. Garmin, Google, and the Delorme map all showed these as thru roads. In some instances I could see a new house not far from the gate. I figure someone bought the property on both sides of the road then gated it off as private, I doubt it is legal but it is what it is. I spent a lot of time and miles backtracking and rerouting.

The above pics show the gems of the two tracks I'm working on and it is still a work in progress. When I'm satisfied with the finished product I will give them to anyone that wants them. I would not mind leading a few people on these tracks but honestly my navigational skills are horrible. Even with the Garmin Montana I still miss turns and get lost. I find it difficult to focus on the road and the GPS, this project is my way of improving my skills and having some fun in doing so.

This problem has come up a lot. In the discussions I've had with folks, we figure the only real way to get a definitive answer would be through a government official like the county planner. Part of my problem is not knowing WHO to actually contact. Despite being suspicious of this situation many times in Arkansas as well as a few spots in KS, I guess I've never had the wherewithal or gumption to actually see the process through.

Recently, @gagnaou came across this situation with the infamous Box Turtle Rd in KS. A rancher has put up a serious gate at one end of the road. Other indications suggest this is still a public road.
