Awesome! I noticed on my Motorcycle Closeouts email that I got yesterday that they mentioned the maintenance day. Very cool- I just wish I could take part in it!

Troy I have professional photo equipment if your still looking for a photographer. I'll bring it along, with the other stuff. Has a plan for lunch been figured out yet? Let me know what I can do. Also, anyone want to carpool? I'll be leaving from Lee's Summit. I should have an open seat or two.

...and another corporate sponsor! Cycle Zone KTM in Topeka! So more stuff for the raffle! Those guys are great. Mike is even going to loan us an ATV to help with hauling saws and gas and tools, etc.

Yes!!!
Those guys are definitely great! Will they bring it on site or do you need somebody to go and fetch it?

I am a bit confused--are you able to come for sure? Your initial posting seemed to indicate that you are at the mercy of the railroad so who knows. I hope you can come! YES, please bring your photo setup. Kim, the better half of Rick, volunteered to help take photos, but I do want lots of good photos of folks working as well as before and after shots of trails. A couple of organizations including the BRC have recommended we provide photos and a write-up to publish.

I also plan to update SchoolCreek.org with some good follow-up to celebrate our work.

Stand by--I might need some help with that. Mike Kruger and I are going to talk this morning to figure out logistics. I'll do what I need to do to make this work, but I'm hoping I don't have to make a separate trip to Topeka (2.5 hours RT) to get it as I have a lot to do still today and tomorrow prepping for Saturday.

I drove about 2 hours RT last night to pick up the MotorcycleCloseouts items. (THANKS, Rusty!) I have an hour RT trip tonight to pick up the trailer I'm borrowing for Saturday.

Any Topeka-local members planning to be a part of the effort this Sat?

Troy, I'm taking a vacation day. I've got to use them by the end of the year anyway. I've got a 5x9 trailer too, if needed.

See you Sat! Thanks for the trailer offer--maybe someone will need to borrow it. I have multiple trailer borrowing options, but none of them are less than 50 minutes RT. Pretty selfish of my trailer-owning friends to live so far away from me.

Sister-in-law delivering a baby is no reason to miss Maintenance Day.

Just sayin'.

And you can quote me.

Eddie, I quote you all the time. One of my favorites, "Check out that dude's butt!"

You know, it was a hard days work, but it was fun and it did help the riding area immensely. I carry crap on a daily basis for my job so I'm not completely out of shape, BUT, carrying that saw all day and and climbing up those hills, tore my sh!t up! Arms, back, legs, feet, knees, blah blah blah big ol cry baby!

It was a good day, glad my boys and I could make. It was good to see old friends and meet a few new friends. Really hope we can put the same group together in the spring and go out there a roost it UP!

Oh, and don't forget to call the sponsors. Mike at Cycle Zone and Perry at Letko will get a call from me on Tuesday. Rusty, I don't have your cell anymore(been to long since our duke wheel deal!) but I'll drop you an email. Thanks to you guys and your business's for the cool swag. We really do appreciate it.

Like others have said, it was a great day, it was nice to spend some time with like minded people and get to talk to them. When we do what we love to do, we typically do not get to talk as much. I am glad we got to do this, thanks Troy for being the master mind behind it. We all enjoyed riding those place and want to keep them open and fun to ride, but it is kind if an overwhelming task by oneself which means that typically not much tends to happen.

Thanks to the sponsors as well, they really went above and beyond what I was expecting, I will make sure to let the know that and more importantly I will try to send $ their way whenever I can and have a need to buy stuff. I do not know much about motorcycle closeout but I have been working with cyclezone since I had my 640 adventure and have always been very please with their services and how well they treated me.

Yes it would be great to ride this spring altogether, let's try to set up a date. I know it is way in advance and weather may be changing things drastically when we get there, but if we do not people's calendar especially mine will get filled and we may not get the turnout that we'd like to see.

Sometimes in April?
