Re: I am the GS Giant!
It means he put a lot of time into making the "GS Giant" a real event at the MOA rally. Planning, leading, and riding a number of rides. Collecting points by way of various activities, and competing on a course complete with nasty bits of sand and mud.
There were a lot of good riders there, ajayhawkfan worked for the trophy.

That's cool! That was a serious question, I had no clue what it meant.

Re: I am the GS Giant!
Congratulations, Eddie!
I'm not completely aware of everything that goes into the competition, but I know it's a combination of riding a lot of miles to collect "GS points" and a tough competition in a closed course made up of several obstacles where dabbing a foot loses you points. There are also "GS BS points", and the BS stands for what you think. For example, if you break your bike during the competition, you get points. If you break your body, you get even more points....crazy stuff like that.
Luckily, Eddie was able to collect the most points without destroying his body or bike!
The competition was held during the 40th Annual BMW MOA Rally. I found this local, Sedalia news coverage of the rally.

Eddie said 9,000+ folks attended! I saw reports of riders coming from other countries, down from Alaska, etc.

Re: I am the GS Giant!
Thanks all.
It was a fun event. I had never done anything like that before and winning overall made it even better.

Hey Bob. That Jayhawk football video must be at least 15 years old....there hasn't been anything football-wise to celebrate for quite some time...and there isn't anyone in the stand anymore.

I guess he was kind of rough on the Boys, but he could throw together a football team.
There was no mistaking him when he walked out on the field either!!
