TAR June 5th meeting

At the last TAR meeting we talked about meeting up north somewhere for the June meeting. Living down south I don't really know much about the northland and where might be a good place to meet. Can anybody help me out with suggestions of somewhere up north that would be convenient for all....maybe we could make it a ride meeting where we could meet and then do a loop back for dinner?
We are open to anything but anytime the weather is good we would probably rather be riding than sitting inside. Let me know what you think.

Here are a few I can think of...
http://www.westonirish.com/ The pub is a great place. Likely too far north.
http://www.smokeboxbbq.com/ The one on Ambassador Drive is near the airport.
http://www.mannyskc.com/ Southwest Boulevard
http://www.rjsbbq.com/ Sort of half way, it's in Mission.
http://www.fillingstationcoffee.com/index.html In the crossroads area, nice outdoor seating if I remember right.
Some place west might make more sense.

Comments on a few of your idea.
Weston Brewing is a great place and has a lot of outdoor seating and a good place to ride in the evening.
If you chose Southwest Boulevard try La Fonda El Taquito
http://www.lafondaeltaquito.com/ContactUs.aspx I believe it is much better than Manny's
The Filling Station is down the street from my office. It has good coffee but not much in the way of dinner.
That being said, I'll be in WV on the 5th so will not be able to attend.

Another idea...
The local dualsport community has used the Pizza Shoppe in Smithville for meetings before. They also have a banquet room.
Smithville Pizza Shoppe near Motorcycle Closeouts
Motorcycle Closeouts is open until 7pm for anyone wanting to pick up a few things before the meeting.

I'd vote for Weston Brewing- that is a cool place to hang out, especially when the weather is nice and the patio is open.
Unfortunately I won't be making this one (nor will Foster) since we'll be halfway to the Americade Rally in Lake George, NY by then.
You guys have fun though!

I like Pizza Shop. There is one off 152 and N Oak as well. Not sure if they have a meeting room though...

For June 5 we will meet at motorcycle closeouts at 4:30 then ride alphabet roads to the Weston Brewery...for those who might want to just meet us there we should be there around 6:00.

The first Tuesday in July is the 3rd and I assume that everybody will be busy celebrating our countries anniversary so we will not have a July get together....God Bless America!
August 7th is the first Tuesday in August and my plan is to be riding single track trails high up in the Colorado mountains. If anybody wants to get together please post information but I know a lot of people are out of town in August.
September 4th at 7:00 we will start the fall season by meeting at the Smithville Pizza Shoppe next to Motorcycle Closeouts. Rusty, from Motorcycle Closeouts has agreed to make a presentation regarding various types of dual sport equipment, accessories etc.

Due to some scheduling conflicts at work, I had to bail on the ride that was going to keep me from coming to the TARKC meeting on Tuesday, so now I will be able to attend.
When you say alphabet roads, you mean all the paved roads up in that area, correct? I will most likely ride my FZ-1, so I'm not looking to hit any dirt/gravel on the ride. If you guys plan to do a true dual sport ride from Smithville to Weston, I will probably just meet you at Weston.

We will ride all paved roads...at least one person will be riding a street bike only. Probably don't have enough time to ride gravel anyway.

I will not be able to go to Chadwick on Friday as discussed at Tuesday's meeting. Life seems to get in the way when making plans. I even got both Trials bikes re-geared today. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused. I'll plan on going as soon as possible and will post on this site if anyone is interested in joining me.
