Airbag Jackets

I was joking with my boss about staying safe on my trip next week. I told her I would be wearing every kind of protection except an airbag. I knew the airbag jacket already existed but I didn't know how available they already were. I did some research and found an article stating in a couple years, they could be a standard feature in motorcycle jackets.
One advantage over a automobile airbag is that the system is reusable. The bags are charged by a small CO2 cartridge like those used in air pistols. If the bags go off they can be deflated and stuffed back in place. Most jackets have frontal, back and neck bags.

The jackets I found run around $500 - $600..... that's less than my insurance deductible!

...... and they will be a standard item sold with KLRs. Sorry Quinton, I couldn't help myself!
