So has anyone looked at these yet? Looks very sharp and pretty simular to the BMW F800. I like what they came up with and the 5gal tank is just perfect. Using thier Speed Triple 3 cyclinder and a 6 speed. I really want to try one. Even more so than the F800. Much better looking IMO than the New Yamaha 1200 too

Hubba, hubba. Got a chance to read about this bike. I liked the Tigers a couple model years back when the bike was a true adventure tourer. The newest version looks pretty cool.... except for the price.

I liked my Vstrom but it did have it's shortcomings. Low ground clearance, lots of vulnerable plastic, extremely heavy weighted front end (you are doomed if there is even the slightest scent of mud). The 800 Triumph and Beemer will have me coveting for awhile.
How about the KTM 690, is it a contender in this class?

The KTM 990 is very much a contender in this class. Even more so is the KTM 950 Super Enduro, a bike that can be ridden on the road or in an off-road race. The SE has a fuel limit compared to the larger tanks on the 990 Adventures. That was done to keep it lighter. The SE is about 50 lbs. lighter than the 990. The 990 weighs about the same as the new Tiger 800 or the BMW twin.

Again, the choice is yours. Do you want a more dirt worthy bike or one that will do milder off road trails, such as the White Rim trail in Canyonlands? All of them will do the WR. Only the SE is properly equipped for the ledges on Top of the World trail but a very good rider on the 990 could get up it.

I went and looked at a New Triumph XC at Engle Motors in KC. They have a Demo bike just sitting there begging to be rode. The salesman was wanting to set up a ride (I showed up at 5:45 and they close at 6) but, I have not been back yet. It is nice though. It has 94 hp and weighs 473 (wet-ready to ride). They look offroad capable, although I would cry if I laid it over. Dealer said about $11,000 to get it out the door. I am guessing you could make that 20,000 if you bought all the options, there is several options.
