Chadwick

I've decided that I needed some more Chadwick abuse in my life so after missing many years of riding offroad I'd try again. I have a Scorpa Longride trials type bike that's been taking up room in my garage. Figured it would be a better choice than a Dual Sport bike for down there as it only weighs about 165 lbs! Hauled down last week for a 1 day ride by myself. Boy have things changed down there!! Trails that used to be tapped out in 3rd or 4th on my Husky are now like trials sections. They've re-routed from the creek bottoms to up on the hillsides. I guess if you're on a utility quad with a winch it's not possible to get stuck.
Anyhow, went back down yesterday with a friend who rides a Beta Alp-200cc Suzuki motor. We camped at Cobb Ridge last night (Thursday). Paved roads, elec. hookups, flush toilets, and showers. I guess that's considered "roughing it" today. We had a blast even though Doug led us into areas even my Scorpa wouldn't go, at least with me at the controls.
I can't wait to go back. I first rode Chadwick in '67 on a BSA Victor. Lots of different bikes since then but I can't remember ever having so much fun.
Weekends are very crowded with ATVs. Some of the trails are too narrow for a bike to pass a quad so weekdays are much better.
Anyone interested in going during the week, let me know. I'm old and slow and retired but I have a Motorhome and a trailer and don't like to ride alone.
