Need a Wichita soil sample

Gents, myself and a group of guys ride the St. Valentines Day Massacre at Jeeps every year. With all the snow we recently received, It could potentially be pretty nasty and not worth going. Anybody in the Wichita area able to give a report on the general ground condition in the area? I believe you guys received more snow than we did up here in Topeka from a recent storm. Any insight on how muddy, still snow on the ground, etc in that general area would be appreciated. Went for a street ride on the DS last Saturday to shake the cabin fever off. Only went maybe 10 or so miles as it was pretty damn cold!

Thanks for any info on the above.

The snow we had was very wet. It took a while before it stuck to the streets. Only after the snow was all done with the next day did the cold air behind the front come in and froze everything solid. Theres Still a few inches here on the ground but with it going to be in the 40s the next few days, I say there will be some melting. I went out and walked in the wheat fields tonight looking for deer sheds and the south side of the dams on the ponds were very greasy under the snow. Its getting cold enough at night to do a ground freeze but I bet its only about the top 1/4 to 1/2". When the sun hits it the next day it doesnt take long to thaw it out and make it wet. Although once the sun goes down its freezing back up pretty quickly. Im betting by the 14th things are going to be pretty messy as the snow melts off a little bit every day.

Some of the other feelers I have out in the area is confirming that as well. Think I'll set this year out. Maybe I'll tell the wifey that all my freinds are going but I decided to stay home with her since it's Valentines day. That ought to be worth some "money in the bank". Thanks for the road report.

Harvey, I hear the same thing. Since my partner has the flu and I am still recouping from a kidney stone I'm not going to make it either. Brownie points with the wife!!!

Sad to say but (sorry Donnie) sure glad my partner was sick. It's nice and warm in the house. But, may have been an easy win in this crap, well maybe not easy but something to brag about!
