Gravity will be defied and the limits of reality will be pushed as the Gravity Slashers invade the INTRUST Bank Arena for two nights of intense competition on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010. Tickets are now on sale at INTRUST Bank Arena Box Office, freestylemotocrossonline.com, all Select-A-Seat outlets, selectaseat.com, charge by phone at 316-755-SEAT.The sport is freestyle motocross and with Gravity Slashing tricks like Cliffhangers, Sterilizers, Tsunamis, and Hart Attacks, fans are sure to be on the edge of their seats all night! These tricks may sound like accidents waiting to happen, but in reality, theyre some of the most astounding aerial acrobatics youll ever see. In freestyle motocross, the name of the game is anything goes in this adrenaline-filled contest staged in mid-air. Riders launch their bikes off ramps that propel them towards the rafters, performing mind-bending acrobatic moves as they soar through the arena airspace. The only way to properly experience this spine-tingling sport is from the very edge of your seat as these daredevils fly high overhead.

I am not so sure these things are really "competitions" any more than WWF is real competition. I still enjoy watching these guys jump their motorcycles!

I took my 3 boys (ages 9, 7, and 4) to go see this on Saturday. There were 10 riders and they started the show by all of them riding/jumping at the same time. There were 4 ramps and at any given time there might have been 6 people in the air. That went on for a couple minutes and then they did the competition part. Obviously the pace slowed considerably during the competition, which was the major portion of the show. One rider at a time for 60 seconds with all the big jumps coming out. After the competition, they brought out a snowmobile to do a couple jumps (including a backflip) and finished off with another couple minutes of all 10 riders. The whole show was right at 2 hours long.

My boys loved it. All three of them were cheering and shouting the whole time. They haven't stopped talking about it. I don't think they've ever watched it on TV and they definitely haven't been to a live show before. I figured they would like it, but they enjoyed it even more than I thought. And hey, spending time with my kids is never a bad thing.
