February 12, 2013 get together

Keeping with tradition of eating the best cuisine, the February get together will be at Kelso's just north of downtown. This month we will have as our presenter, Mark Bayer, a motorcycle historian. Mark will primarily focus on the beginnings of motorcycles and will be open to questions.

Well, what did I miss?

I wanted to come to the meeting, but I had an awful headache after work yesterday so I couldn't get motivated to leave the house once I got home.

It was very interesting. Mark Bayer, self-proclaimed motorcycle historian, presented a lot of his research into the very beginnings of motorcycles, the rise of the US motorcycle, reasons for their success and failures, opinions regarding which manufacturers and countries have been most influential for innovation in the industry and lots of other tidbits including the types of people who bought motorcycles through the decades.
