FSSNOC meet & eat

Post by clfarren5944 »

I just got my latest Thumper News. The May Thumper Cafe get-together is a ghost town north and west of Las Vegas on 2 May. I'm planning to ride out on my KLR. Anyone interested in going along??? I always try to stay off of the Interstates as much as possible. Probably a Southern route depending on the weather. I'll keep checking back on this site for replies. Am also gonna post on other sites. Am retired so I've plenty of time.

I might be interested in going with you. I ride an XR650R, and have ridden plenty of cross country trips on it. One cool thing to check out outside of vegas is the "boneyard". It's where all the old neon signs go to retire. Take your camera.

We'll probably leave on 29 April, AM. Three days on the road, spend Fri. night in Tonopah than go on down to Gold Point on Sat. AM. Leave Gold Point Sat. afternoon and head down towards Vegas and work and work our way North and East through Zion? Or maybe West through Death Valley for a while before heading back into Utah. I wanna go through Moab again. Not far off I 70 to head East towards home.
So far a there are two of us planning to go, me and Ken Brazelton.
I'm retired, so I don't have to be in a hurry. I'll be riding my KLR 650 so it won't be fast!
Camping, back roads, whatever.
