Memorial Day Ride - Alternative to April Fools

Post by MoRidin »

Cone on flatlanders...get your kitchen passes in and lets ride this dual sport in TN. This looks AMAZING!

Looks like another version of our April Fools ride...and would let me off the hook by not planning a ride this year. I am just out of synch and not sure if I can pull everything off.

I am going to hit up the OH gang and see if they can come. This looks like a nice "tour" style ride without a ton of technical riding. Should eb a great weekend. It is on Memorial Day weekend...which for me is no matter, but I know some of you guys do mando boating etc.

Lots of pretty pics from Yanni. Not the gay flute guy...at least I hope not.

I know...decisions decisions.

It LOOKS as if April Fools will be April 3/4/5 in Talimena, OK this year. Details to come. There are motel options, or camping with power/water too. Trails galore and the same distance as AR (6 hours).

I am about 90% for sure on TN...it is only 8 hours for m and I have been wanting to ride the Smokies for a long time. Looks just awesome.

More to come on April in the very near future. I am doing a scouting ride in March..so I will have lots of routes and pics.

Sean-------- Oklahoma has some new rules which you need to check out. If you plan to ride any of the forestry roads and trails you will need a permit even if you have a tag (what bullshit), that tag for out of state riders is 80$ per year I believe. I stopped going to the Clayton Ok. ride for that reason. Post up on http://www.rideok.com/ and ask. they know much more than me. If you stay just over the line in Ark there are no fees and the trails are very similar. Have a talk with Troys friend Kevin Ware, he was just down that way a few months back, although it was a ride geared more for mature dual sport kinda guys.

Good luck getting your ride put together, David H

I heard that...but we will be riding in the Ouchita (sp) District of the USFS. Not the Wehrhauser (again sp) land. Just a tag is needed.

What a silly way to cut your revenue stream. For Clayton...a weekend $20 pass would be an easy sell. Now, everyone will just dodge the $80 fee in hopes they dont get caught. Silly.
